Sign up to Volunteer in the Community With FDAAA on Sat. Nov 14

Hi Everyone!

We received an overwhelmingly positive response to our proposal to organize group volunteer activities. Our first event will be supporting So What Else, a local organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children and families living in underserved communities in Maryland and Washington, DC. We'll be helping out on Saturday, November 14th with food distribution at their Food Rescue Bank in North Bethesda / Rockville.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the need is especially timely. Did you know that 35% of households in Montgomery County are currently experiencing food insecurity? This is a meaningful way to give back to our neighbors and a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow FDA alumni outside our usual settings.

• What: Volunteering with the drive-up Food Rescue Bank
• When: Saturday, November 14th, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Where: So What Else Food Rescue Bank, 4924 Wyaconda Rd, North Bethesda, MD 20852

A few important notes:

• Volunteers must be at least 10 years old. Which means that this is a great chance to volunteer alongside your kids or grandkids that are 10 years old and up.
• Students can earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for participating, so bring along their SSL form for a signature.
• Youth volunteers need their parent/guardian to participate. This is not a drop off event.
