Gail Sherman Fills Secretary Position

Gail H. Sherman

The Board of Directors has selected Gail Sherman to fill the position of Secretary. This position was previously held by Bob Eccleston. Bob Saur, Chairman of the Board of Directors said, “we are delighted that Gail has accepted this important role in carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Association.”

Before coming to FDA in 1992, Gail Sherman worked for the National Center for Health Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health. Once in FDA, she joined CBER as Director of the Division of Manufacturers Assistance and Training. In this capacity, she provided management oversight and leadership or the Center's internal training programs, industry outreach activities and, in 2002, CBER's centennial observance. As Vice President of the Montgomery County Club of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, Gail brought useful insights and experience to her role as an employee Associate Member Liaison to the Board of Directors, and was elected to the FDAAA Board of Directors in April 2005. She was also a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on the FDA Centennial. In August 2004, Gail retired from FDA service and joined the Parenteral Drug Association as Vice President of Education and Director of PDA's Training and Research Institute.
